More Christmas Tree Colors

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Here are the Christmas tree images with the color going down the opposite side of the scale. I decided to make all these photographs posterized.

This brings us all the way to the left side of the hue scale. Just for fun, I tried three more images, but didn’t use the invert and equalize filters.

So, this was created using a solarizer filter, then increasing the saturation 100%, decreasing the hue 180%, then posterizing it.

This is fun to play with, but I guess it’s time to get back to some Christmas chores. May your Christmas be Merry and Bright!

Christmas Tree Colors

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

After trying filters on the photograph of a frosty evergreen tree, I decided to experiment a little more with that technique. I got some pretty wild results, and thought I’d do a whole series of them, up and down the color spectrum.

I used the solarizing filter, then the invert and equalize filters, and maximized the saturation level. From that point, I went up the hue scale in 25% increments. The second image in each color group has a posterizing filter added.

This batch of trees was created by changing the hue on the right side of the scale. My next post will feature images from the other side, which will include some dramatic reds.
